Callot Soeurs Original 1920s Beaded Dress Museum Quality Rare Collectible
This dress is a couture piece made from the French design house of Callot Soeurs (sisters). It dates to 1925 and was deacessed by a museum and purchased in England. The beadwork is just amazing and all hand done. The design is so mesmerising and the back is even better than the front. The design of the dress is a tabard, with the back hanging down similar to a cape. The shoulders provide hook and eyes for closure.
Perfect for the serious collector..... this has provenance and historical value. A rare addition to any collection. There are missing beads and they continue to fall off here and there so this is best for display. There is no label but I do have the paperwork from the auction house stating that this is indeed a Callot Soeurs couture creation. It once was housed in the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Fits beautifully on my size 6 mannequin. The colors are blue, turquoise, rust, coral and copper.
